It's been a day full of injury updates to elite level players with the likes of Calgary Flames star Johnny Gaudreau going down to injury as well as what appears to be a significant injury to Lightning captain Steven Stamkos, and now we have yet another one to add to the pile.

The New Jersey Devils announced on Wednesday that they have also lost a top forward for a significant length of time with the recently acquired Taylor Hall requiring surgery due to injury. From the official statement:

This afternoon, Taylor Hall underwent successful arthroscopic surgery for a torn meniscus in his left knee.

The procedure was performed at Summit (NJ) Medical Group Surgery Center by team physician Dr. Michael Shindle and Dr. Jonathan Glashow, the Devils' Chief Medical Officer.

While the surgery was successful it will still leave the Devils without Hall for a period of three to four weeks due to the lengthy recovery process needed to get him back into game shape. Hall has been a big time point producer for the Devils with 5 goals and 7 assists in his first 14 games with the organization, making his absence a big blow to the Devils.
