The Maple Leafs will finally get to see their new goaltender in action.

After hitting a roadblock in the form of an injury at the World Cup, Frederik Andersen returned to Toronto for medical evaluation and began to prepare for the 2016-2017 National Hockey League season, and it appears he is now ready to go.

It's currently unclear how much time Andersen will spend on the ice, but he will in fact play when the Maple Leafs take on the Ottawa Senators in Saskatoon today.

Leafs head coach Mike Babcock confirmed the news this week, but he would not commit to the length of time Andersen will play, perhaps with the Leafs wishing to see how he does live before making their decision in that regard.
