The last season was historic for the Sens. A lot of things happened through the year and a deep playoff run culminated an interesting campaign. All the drama and action helped reveal a previously underrated player in Tom Pyatt and he rapidly became a fans favorite. His 23 points in 82 games showed he was a quality depth player with plenty of upside to offer.
His return to the NHL after two years in the Swiss-A league was uncertain, as the Senators only offered him a one year deal to begin with. However, he signed today a two years extension worth 1.1M$ on average that will certainly settle the nerves.
It's well deserved for him. He never hesitated to put his own body on the line to prevent a goal and stop a play. The gritty forward will have plenty of opportunities to keep impressing Ottawa's fans in the years to come.
Congrats sir !
