The NHL Player Safety Department is hard to follow at times, but today it announced a new suspension that shouldn't surprise anyone.
Last night, the Capitals were in Los Angeles to battle with the Kings. During the game, Kevin Shattenkirk charged Kings' defenseman Kevin Gravel.
The move was pretty clear, with skates leaving the ice and the forward motion directed ton Gravel's head. The number of games is debatable though, as the Department is often illogical on that front.
Shattenkirk will be suspended two games and will lose $47,222.22. in salary.
