There is no love lost between the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins, and plays like this are sure to stoke the flame even further.

During Saturday's matchup between the two perennial rivals, one player was left bloody after getting a stick to the face. Canadiens' forward Brendan Gallagher is chasing the puck deep, when Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo shoves him in the back. Gallagher appears to try and spear Carlo, but accidentally clips Carlo in the face with his stick.

Gallagher earned a double minor for high-sticking on the play, and Carlo went to the bench for repairs.

It's getting chippy out there in the first period.
