He was dearly missed.

Finally…some good news on the injury front for the Boston Bruins! The team has been decimated by injuries lately, especially on the blue line, but news from this morning’s practice should give Bruins fans some reason for optimism.

While Krejci managed to play all 82 regular season games this season for the first time in nearly a decade, he was a surprise scratch for game 1 of the Bruin’s first round playoff series against the Ottawa Senators. The Bruins described his injury only as an “upper body” ailment. He went on to miss game 2, a loss in OT as well. Now with the series tied 1-1 and heading to Boston for game 3 tonight, it appears as though Krejci will return to the lineup.

He took practice rushes this morning centering a line with Drew Stafford and David Backes. It’s expected that that line will play secondary minutes behind the B’s top trio of Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak. Filling out the forward group is Ryan Spooner, Tim Schaller and Frank Vatrano on the third line and Riley Nash, Dominic Moore and Noel Acciari on the team’s fourth line.

It's still unsure whether he will actually play tonight or not, we will know more right at the start of tonight's game.

If Krejci does indeed play tonight, he’ll add some much needed firepower to the Bruins attack. His 54 points in 82 games this season was good for third in team scoring behind only Marchand and Pastrnak.
