Oilers players comment on Game 2

After a 3-2 overtime loss last game, the Oilers are looking for their first win tonight. A game one loss on home ice is not what the fans or players were hoping for but Darnell Nurse and Patrick Maroon are moving forward. “We’ve got to take the bad & learn from it. They’re easy fixes & we’re confident in that” says Patrick Maroon.

He claims that a win for the Oilers could be as easy as staying out of the penalty box. There were way too many penalties last game, which cost the offensive a lot of energy. His suggestion for the team tonight is to: “keep doing the same things that got us here. Nothing has changed. It’s game 84.” Maroon seems to have a positive attitude going into game two of the playoffs against the Sharks and we hope that this will translate into a win.

Darnell Nurse is also thinking optimistically heading into the game tonight. Like Maroon he believes that they have “gotten ourselves to this point by playing the right way… It’s going to take us sticking to details.” It seems that both players are focused on playing game two as if it is another regular season game. They don’t want the stress of the playoffs to impact their chances.

As Nurse says: “we have to focus on our details for a full 60 minutes.”

If the team can take these two players’ comments and apply them, I am sure that we will see a different Oilers team on the ice tonight. We definitely don’t want to see the Oilers going into San Jose two games down. Let’s orange crush it!
