The Toronto Maple Leafs were facing the Columbus Blue Jackets in the only game presented in the NHL on Monday night. They took a 2-0 lead after two periods, but Columbus scored two unanswered goals in the third period to tie things up at 2-2, and Artemi Panarin scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Jackets a 3-2 win.

Here's a quick recap of tonight's game!

The Leafs were able to resist two early Columbus power plays in the first period. Roman Polak hit Lukas Sedlak dangerously along the board to give the Jackets their first power play of the game.

Luckily for the Maple Leafs, goaltender Frederik Andersen was at the top of his game, and he helped his team to escape the first period tied at 0-0 with saves like this one.

James van Riemsdyk opened the scoring for the Maple Leafs in the second period, redirecting Roman Polak's point shot behind Sergei Bobrovsky to score his 18th of the season.

The Leafs scored their second goal in the power play, thanks to a perfect shop by William Nylander, who scored his ninth of the season.

Everything seemed under control for Toronto at the start of the third period, but the Blue Jackets had other plans. Jordan Schroder scored his first goal of the season to cut the Leafs lead in half. Then, not even two minutes later, Pierre-Luc Dubois scored his tenth of the year to tie things up.

Artemi Panarin scored the game-winning goal in overtime, after Sergei Bobrovsky made a great save against Tyler Bozak.

The Maple Leafs will play their next game on Wednesday, when they'll be receiving the Ottawa Senators.
