Gameday: Matthews-less Leafs take on the Wild

The banged up Toronto Maple Leafs face off against the Minnesota Wild at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota at 8pm ET.

The Wild are coming off three straight overtime or shootout victories , besting the Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks and Calgary Flames. They’ll take on a Leafs squad that dropped a close 4-2 decision to the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday evening.

Superstar Auston Matthews has been ruled out of the lineup for a second consecutive game with what head coach Mike Babcock has described as an “upper body thing”. So, with the big fish out of the lineup, how does the rest of the roster shake down?

Here’s are the forward lines and defence pairings according to DailyFaceoff.com:

Forwards:

Hyman - Marleau - Marner
Komarov - Kadri - Nylander
Van Riemsdyk - Bozak - Brown
Martin - Moore - Leivo

Defence:

Rielly - Hainsey
Gardiner - Zaitsev
Borgman - Polak

Goalies:

Andersen
McElhinney

No Matthews, no problem? Buckle up, Leafs fans. This could get interesting. Final score predictions?
