Gameday report: Coach Green updated the status of two players!

First game after the All-Star break against Colorado tonight!

Vancouver Canucks head coach Travis Green updated the status of forward Brendan Gaunce and defenseman Erik Gudbranson ahead of tonight's game against the Colorado Avalanche!

Gaunce will be back in the lineup, after he missed his team last two games before the All-Star game. In 30 games played this season, the 23 year-old forward scored two goals and added one assist. Drafted 26th overall by the Canucks in 2012, Gaunce has scored three goals and six assists for a total of nine points in 107 games played in the NHL.

Gudbranson is still listed day-to-day with a back injury he suffered on January 20th. He played 32 games so far this season, registering three points and 31 penalty minutes. Drafted third overall by the Florida Panthers in 2010, the 26 year-old defenseman played 371 games in the NHL so far, registering 52 points and 395 penalty minutes.


Coach Green also confirmed that goaltender Jakob Markstrom will get the start tonight to face the Avalanche. In 36 starts this season, the Swedish netminder has a record of 13-16-5 with a 2.74 goal-against average and a .908 save percentage.

The Canucks are currently seventh in the Pacific division with a record of 19-24-6.
