Minnesota looking to turn things around ahead of a “big strong physical game” against the Sharks tonight.

Defenceman Mat Dumba isn’t expecting San Jose to make snapping the Wild’s five game losing streak an easy task. What’s worse, is that recently acquired shutdown d-man Ryan White may not be up to the task tonight, although he will apparently be a game-time decision.

That’s unfortunate, because the Wild need all the help they can get, and not just on defence.

Head Coach Bruce Boudreau noted that the entire team is going through a “dry spell”, and that extends all the way across the ice from the first line to the blue paint between the pipes. Boudreau maintains that he isn’t worried about the team’s recent struggles.

The head coach addressed Jason Pominville’s status in particular, and his team in general, stating his plan was to try and rest his veteran players before the playoffs begin. Boudreau appears willing to stick with that plan despite the Wild’s inability to put wins together over the past ten games.

Both teams enter tonight’s contest looking to end losing streaks. The Sharks have dropped their last three games, the Wild their last five.

The last time the Wild won at home on Sunday March 5th and it was against San Jose. Minnesota can remain undefeated against the Sharks this season with a win tonight.
