The New York Rangers are hoping that some home cooking serves them better than the road fare they tolerated during a 0-2 slide in Ottawa last week. When the Rangers take to the ice at Madison Square Garden tonight for game 3 of their second round Stanley Cup playoff series against the Ottawa Senators, they’ll do so with a lineup that’s identical to the one they iced last game in Ottawa. Ditto for the Sens.

Despite some lineup options for both Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault and Sens head coach Guy Boucher, the two French Canadian bench bosses have elected to move forward with the status quo. For Vigneault, it was thought that Tanner Glass may slot into his team’s fourth line in place of Pavel Buchnevich, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. For the Sens, Boucher had hoped that Mark Borowiecki would be healthy enough to slot in on the blue line, but it appears as though Ben Harpur will continue to skate in his place.

Now that the lineups are determined, can we drop the puck already? The atmosphere at Canadian Tire Centre for game 2 was electric, hopefully that enthusiasm carries over for tonight’s contest from Madison Square Garden.
