Getzlaf surpasses Selanne's record!

We all knew it was coming, but it is now done. Ryan Getzlaf is the record holder for all-time assists in the Anaheim franchise.

Thursday night against the Carolina Hurricanes, Getzlaf got an helper off Ryan Kesler's empty net goal which gave him his 532nd career assist surpassing previous record-holder Teemu Selanne in the franchise history. The Ducks captain went on ""Teemu is such a friend, such a mentor. It's a special thing, because I played with 'T' so long and the respect I have for him."

Getzlaf now tallies 12 assists in 12 games for the season. The 31 years old veteran still has a lot of time ahead of time to pad on to this record and hopefully for the Ducks, he will.
