Glendening makes brutal assessment on Wings’ performance

The Detroit Red Wings’ losing streak hit 12 games last night when they managed to get defeated once again, this time at the hands of the Jets in Winnipeg.

After the loss, it felt like no one in the Wings’ dressing room could find the right words to explain their lethargy and make sense of the ongoing skid. They clearly don’t know what to tell reporters anymore after a loss… 

However, we feel like forward Luke Glendening found the right words when making this brutal assessment after the game: 

"We can’t seem to stop the bleeding once it starts,” Glendening told NHL.com after the loss. ”We have a tough time slowing it down. I think they scored basically three shifts in a row. Part of that is, we get stuck in our own zone and we’re too tired to get it out.”

There was hope in the game last night: the Red Wings were tied 1-1 with the Jets at the midway point of the second period before Winnipeg exploded for three goals in a two-minute span. 

They have to find a way to win hockey games… 

If it can encourage you, top forward Dylan Larkin made it clear that the Wings won’t stop looking for solutions and will eventually get back to winning.  

“As hard as it is to say after a 5-1 loss, we’re tapping in a lot, we battle, we battle for each other. We show up every day and practice hard. I’ve said it before; I do feel we’ve gotten stronger as a group although the results aren’t showing it.”

The Red Wings face the Jets again on Thursday night, but this time at home, in Detroit.
