Some interesting activity on the waiver wire today.

A report from ESPN insider Pierre LeBrun has revealed that both recently signed Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Jeff Glass as well as New Jersey Devils defenseman Seth Helgeson have been placed on waivers.

Jeff Glass appears to be an interesting candidate as he has played very well in 10 games since being picked up by the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League in January, recording a .917 save percentage and a 2.38 goals against average and that earned him a two-year deal earlier this week. While he has yet to play in the NHL the reality is there are number of NHL teams with very bad goaltending depth this season, and Glass could get some looks even if it's only to keep him in the AHL level. It also has to be said that teams could look to grab him merely as bait for the expansion draft.

Helgeson on the other hand has played in 9 NHL games this season for the Devils, picking up a single point, a goal, and recording a plus minus rating of +2 over those 9 games. Helgeson has spent the majority of his season in the AHL with the Albany Devils playing 31 games and recording 2 goals, 4 assists and a plus minus rating of +10 over that stretch.

Also notable, veteran Bryan Bickell cleared waivers today.
