The devil is in the details.

During Saturday night's action between the Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Blues, Habs' goaltender Al Montoya was the victim of one of the more embarrassing goals of the NHL season.

Montoya attempts to line up in front of Blues forward Alex Pietrangelo, but slips on the ice and falls down awkwardly. Pietrangelo's shot was subsequently redirected in by Patrik Berglund for the game's first goal.

An earlier shot of the pregame warmups shows Montoya working on his left skate, which may have led to the regrettable blunder. Montoya may have overlooked something in his preparation and it resulted in what may be the season's worst tally.
