A golden opportunity for the Red Wings?

There have been a number of moves already in the early parts of the offseason for some teams, and most notable among those have been the big goaltending trades in the National Hockey League.

While both the Carolina Hurricanes and the Dallas Stars have seemingly fixed their goaltending issues with the acquisitions of Scott Darling and Ben Bishop respectively, but there are still a number of teams with goaltending needs and the number of available goalies is dwindling.

TSN insider Pierre LeBrun believes this could provide an opportunity for the Detroit Red Wings, and while he wondered if the Red Wings would get calls for either Jimmy Howard or Petr Mrazek, Lebrun stated his belief that the Red Wings would listen to offers for both players.

Howard was the much better goalie for Detroit this season but was once again greatly limited by injury issues, while Mrazek on the other hand had a down year after looking like the goalie of the future in 2015-2016. While LeBrun did not elaborate on who he could see making an offer to the Red Wings, one has to imagine that teams like the Winnipeg Jets and Calgary Flames are near the top of that list.
