Marc-Andre Fleury is feeling the heat. After an injury-plagued season saw him lose his starting role to Matt Murray (who eventually led the Pittsburgh Penguins to a Stanley Cup last season), Fleury is making sure everyone knows he intends on sticking around.
He told the Post-Gazette:
“I’ve always said this is my home. I wish I could play here all my career. I’ll try my best to do good for the team, for the organization and hopefully stick around a long time.”
While there’s no telling just how much those words will help convince Pittsburgh’s brass to keep him around, NBC Sports reports that there’s a fear within the organization that Murray could be lost to the Expansion Draft next summer and Fleury’s age is starting to affect his play.
