Last week, we found out why Marc-Andre Fleury has left the Vegas Golden Knights’ organization on a personal leave as it was sadly revealed that his father Andre past away at age 63.

Last Tuesday, the Golden Knights had to make urgent changes to their lineup ahead of Wednesday’s contest against the Predators in Nashville. The team made an emergency recall of goalie Garret Sparks.

Head coach Gerard Gallant finally had some good news for fans today when he confirmed that despite Fleury still being away from the team and not in the lineup for tonight’s game against the New Jersey Devils, the star goalie is expected to to rejoin the team at some point during its upcoming three-game road trip, NHL.com’s Mike Morreale reports.

The Golden Knights will face the New York Islanders on Thursday and then visit the Rangers at the Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

Malcolm Subban figures to remain in net, and Sparks will serve as a backup until Fleury’s ready. He will then return to the minors as soon as Fleury officially rejoins the team.
