Golden Knights: George McPhee's list of potential coach?!

While it's still hard to figure out who will be on the first Vegas Golden Knights roster, for we don't know which players are going to be protected, the coach situation appears to be a lot clearer. According to Bruce Garrioch, Vegas " will be looking for a good communicator to take over their head coaching duties in their first season".

"Former Philadelphia Flyers coach Craig Berube and Montreal Canadiens assistant Kirk Muller are both on the list of candidates that GM George McPhee is looking at. If Las Vegas wants someone with expansion team experience, then Tampa Bay Lightning associate coach Rick Bowness should be in the mix. He did an excellent job with the Senators from 1992-to-1995. He’d like to be a head coach again and was a finalist for the job in Anaheim last summer." according to Garrioch.

Berube stint as a head coach in the NHL lasted 2 seasons and never won a playoff round. Berube currently serves as head coach of the Chicago Wolves, the St. Louis Blues' AHL affiliate.

Kirk Muller on the other hand served as head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes for three seasons and never made the playoffs. He is currently behind the Montreal Canadiens bench as an associate coach.
