Last Friday, the Golden Knights faced a tough defeat against the Colorado Avalanche. Marc-André Fleury who has had a very hot start to the season was even pulled and replaced by Garret Sparks in the 2nd period of what ended up being a 6-1 loss.

Today, in yet another afternoon game, the Golden Knights will host the Anaheim Ducks as they seek to bounce back from their poor performance against the Avs.

The Golden Knights' lineup had stayed essentially intact over the course of the last few games. But by the looks of it, the formation used by Gerard Gallant during that period stopped working quite abruptly on Friday. Keeping that in mind, coach Gallant made a few changes to his lineup ahead of this afternoon's divisional matchup.

Nicolas Roy will finally get his debut with the Vegas Golden Knights as he has been a healthy scratch ever since he was called up from the Chicago Wolves, the Golden Knights' AHL affiliate. Nicolas Roy will step in as the 4th line center.

Tomas Nosek will thus be promoted to the 3rd line where he will take the place of Brandon Pirri on the left wing. The latter will be a healthy scratch today following a few unimpressive displays.

The defensive unit is set to stay identical while Marc-André Fleury will have the chance to make amends for his poor performance against Colorado as he will start in front of the Vegas net, backed up once again by Garret Sparks.

Here is the projected lineup for the Golden Knights ahead of this afternoon's game against the Ducks according to NHL.com correspondent Danny Webster:

Forwards:

Jonathan Marchessault - William Karlsson - Reilly Smith

Max Pacioretty - Paul Stastny - Mark Stone

Tomas Nosek - Cody Eakin - Cody Glass

William Carrier - Nicolas Roy - Ryan Reaves

Defensemen:

Brayden McNabb - Shea Theodore

Jon Merril - Nick Holden

Jake Bischoff - Deryk Engelland

Goaltenders:

Marc-André Fleury

Garret Sparks

Brandon Pirri and Nicolas Hague are the Healthy scratches for the game against the Ducks. Nate Schmidt, Alex Tuch and Malcolm Subban are all still injured, while Zykov is unavailable on account of his drug-use suspension.

The Ducks also played the Avalanche in their last game yesterday, but unlike the Golden Knights, they got the win by a score of 5-2. Let's see what today's game has in store for us. It's a very important as the two Pacific Division teams have an identical record of 7-5-0 so far this season.
