GOTTA SEE IT: Junior team uses Claude Giroux’s face as their logo

Imagine growing up in a small town in Canada and wanting nothing more than to play in the NHL. Now, imagine that dream comes true and you’re not only playing, but you’re a star with the Philadelphia Flyers. Pretty good, right? NOW imagine that the small town you grew up in decided to immortalize you on their local team’s jersey? It’s the Canadian dream.

Being the pride of Hearst, Ontario is no joke for Claude Giroux. He started his hockey career in the small town of 5,000 people and now the Hearst Lumberjacks of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League have decided to pay homage to the Flyers’ captain by using his likeliness for their team logo.

That determined look, that beautiful orange beard. So perfect. Still not convinced? Check out the Claude Giroux Foundation logo on the forearm. There’s no mistaking who this is meant to represent.

We have just one question: why the Lumber Jacks? Why not the Lumber Girouxs?
