Gotta See It: Luongo hilariously rejects Vegas on social media

When the Florida Panthers officially released their list of protected players for the upcoming NHL Expansion Draft, many fans and analysts were surprised to see that the team opted to protect goaltender James Reimer over Roberto Luongo. While the move makes sense given their age and contract status, rumors and reports had indicated that it would in fact be Luongo who would be protected.

Regardless, the decision was made to protect Reimer, but that didn’t stop Luongo from slyly removing himself from the picture earlier today on Twitter:

See what he did there? Luongo replied to the official Vegas account with his name penned out. Awesome. Nothing to see here Vegas, move along and take someone else. 

In any case, chances are Luongo is at no real risk of being selected. Vegas Golden Knights manager George McPhee will have his choice of some good goaltenders in the draft including Marc Andre Fleury and Petr Mrazek. As for the Panthers, they should be concerned with losing a 30 goal scorer like Jonathan Marchessault.
