When former Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Steve Mason fell into the lap of Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff on the opening day of NHL free-agency, he must have been thanking his lucky stars. Mason was arguably the ONLY starting goaltender on the UFA market and by locking him up to a  two-year contract, Cheveldayoff has not only solidified his team’s goaltending situation, but he’s also secured the succession plan for young netminder Connor Hellebuyck.

So, what can Jets fans expect from Mason next season? We break down his top 3 saves from 2016-17 for a bit of a sneak preview:

3. Larceny on Ehlers from the slot

2. Sprawling save on Jokinen in tight

1. Now that’s using your head

The constant in each of these saves? No quit. Winnipeg Jets fans, you’re going to love this guy.
