Travel. Sometimes it’s exciting, other times though it’s just tedious and monotonous. While Nashville is sure to provide the perfect stage for an epic Stanley Cup showdown tonight, the keeper of the Cup Philip Pritchard will be tasked with getting the chalice there safe and sound first. What does that involve?

This isn’t quite the “white-glove” treatment that we’re used to seeing with the Stanley Cup. Nevertheless, it’s somewhat satisfying to see that even the most iconic trophy in sports receives the same kind of treatment from airport security that regular folks receive. If I can’t even get through TSA with a ballpoint pen in my pocket, it’s only fair that the Cup has to go through rigorous review.

Fear not though, Pens fans: the Cup passed through security and WILL be in the building at Bridgestone Arena tonight. Preds fans, however, will be cheering for it to make another appearance after game 7 in Pittsburgh on Wednesday evening.
