Great news for NHL legend Martin Brodeur!

Just a few months after officially announcing his retirement, back in 2015, the St. Louis Blues hired NHL legend Martin Brodeur as an assistant to general manager Doug Armstrong. It was a great occasion for Marty to learn how it feels being the scenes, and how to actually manage an NHL franchise.

But the St. Louis Blues aren't the only organization Brodeur's now affiliated with. He was also named to Hockey Canada's management group, and is currently working hard to find the best candidates for the 2018 Olympic games.

In an interview with Mathias Brunet, from La Presse, the former goaltender said it was a unique experience for him and gave us a little bit more information about what his job is with Hockey Canada:

"I'm so happy to help Hockey Canada, they've done so much for me throughout my career. Since my job with St. Louis takes up a lot of my time, I am a kind of consultant for them. They have made a few selections already and they have asked me for advice. We have meetings over the phone regularly. We spend at least two hours on the phone together every week."

Even though he won't actually be in Pyeongchang for the Olympic games, he's going to fly to Riga, Latvia, to watch his team play a few pre-tournament games.

They are currently considering a bunch of former NHLers to take part in the Olympic tournament, like Rene Bourque, Christian Thomas, Gilbert Brule, Teddy Percell, Simon Després, Mason Raymond and goaltender Ben Scrivens.
