It is always easier to take a gamble when you know what to expect.
That what the Florida Panthers have done on Wednesday morning, announcing that the team has signed veteran forward Troy Brouwer to a professional tryout.
The veteran forward spent the last season with the Panthers, before they got serious on the free agent market and signed star goalie Sergei Bobrovsky to a massive contract. The Panthers are now considered to be a serious contender for the coming season, and could use the grit and experience of Brouwer in the dressing room.
The 34-year-old posted 12 goals and nine assists in 75 games with the Panthers. He is a 13-year NHL veteran and has tallied 181 goals and 181 assists in 838 career games.
He could find a way to crack the roster in Florida.
