Gudbranson drops Kane early in heavyweight fight

In case you missed it last night, big boys Evander Kane and Erik Gudbranson decided to inject a little life back into the San Jose Sharks’ and Anaheim Ducks’ rivalry with a good, old fashioned hockey fight.

Tale of the Tape:

Evander Kane - San Jose Sharks
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 212 lbs
Fight Card: Third fight this season, 1st career fight against Gudbranson

Erik Gudbranson
Height:6’5”
Weight: 216 lbs
Fight Card: 30th fight this season, 1st career fight against Kane

LET’S GET IT ON!

Breakdown:

Kane stumbles early on and Gudbranson manages to sneak in a right hand. Kane tries to close the distance between the pair, while Gudbranson seems content on just chucking knuckles.

They spin ‘round and ‘round and Gudbranson nails a hard right hand right on the button, but Kane stays up. They continue to spin ‘round and Gudbranson keeps trying the right hand, but misses two shots. Kane attempts a right cross, but misses badly. Kane stuns Gudbranson for a moment with some left-handed “jersey jabs” to throw Gudbranson off balance.

Gudbranson tries one more right hand and… the refs absolutely ruin a good tilt. The linesman step in early and shut things down before any real big shots can land. Fail.
