A strange incident in Boston tonight.

Bruins goaltender Jonas Gustavsson was taken out of the game after the first period of Boston's match up against the Ducks on Tuesday night, and it seemed strange given that he didn't seem to suffer any kind of injury. However according to a statement from the Bruins, it appears some form of illness not only forced Gustavsson from the game, but was in fact serious enough to force him to go to hospital.

Here is the statement in full from the Bruins official website:

The Boston Bruins issued the following update on Bruins goaltender Jonas Gustavsson, who left Tuesday night's game against the Anaheim Ducks after the first period:

"Bruins goaltender Jonas Gustavsson exited tonight's game due to illness. He has been transported to Mass General Hospital for observation."

No word yet on what it might be, but we will keep you up to date as information is made available.
