Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin has reportedly gotten into contact with the 30 other GMs around the League to let them know he is hopping one of his defensemen.

Bergevin is sure to get a call back, as many NHL teams are in the market for help on the back end. The Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals are all said to be on the market for a blue liner.

However, they will be disappointed to know that it isn't Shea Weber who wants out, but that Bergevin is hopping veteran defender Brandon Davidson

The Habs now have nine defensemen on hand, and could land some help up front, by a prospect or pick,  if they move Davidson.

In 13 games this season with the Habs, Davidson has recorded one assist, and a -3 plus-minus differential.
