The Montreal Canadiens have placed a serviceable forward on waivers to make roster space for what is believed to be the soon to be announced return of Jeff Petry to the line up.

According to Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman the Habs have made the decision to place Scen Andrigetto on waivers, leaving the journeyman forward free to be claimed by any other team on waivers.

Andrigetto is by no means a world beater, but at just 23 years old he has yet to hit his prime, and in 44 games last season with the Habs he was good for 7 goals and 10 assists finishing with a plus minus rating of 1 over that stretch,

Andrigetto has performed even better at the AHL level, making him a low-risk option to acquire under any circumstances.
