Hamilton mocks Nelson during traditional handshake

The surge was back full strength on Friday night: the Carolina Hurricanes beat the New York Islanders 5-2 on Friday night to sweep their second-round series.

We therefore had the traditional hand shake at the end of the series with both teams lining up meet after a tough battle. A great sign of respect that fans love to see after such a rivalry, however, one Hurricanes player took it too far. 

As Dougie Hamilton came to defenseman Brock Nelson, he did not present his hand to shake his. He instead patted his head with his hand, to mock the poor guy who had just been eliminated from the postseason. 

The Hurricanes thought they'd make a joke out of it, by putting the footage on social media and saying that they won tag too, however, it did not have the desired effect.

You bet fans and pundits notice, Dougie, and many want to remind you to stay classy during this tradition moment of the game we love.
