“Harsh Consequences” could be coming for Vancouver defenseman

Vancouver and Toronto had quite the game Saturday night.

It ended with the Leafs thumping the Canucks 6-3. However, that wasn't what was on everyone's mind after the game. It was a very physical and intense game which saw Ryan Miller jump Matt Martin while Martin was starting to beat on Canucks rookie defenseman Troy Stecher. Obviously all hell broke loose after that.

Many of the Canucks players were not happy with Martin that night but none was more pissed off than Erik Gudbranson. After the game he was heard saying "Matt Martin is dead, he is f*ing dead." Not exactly the type of comments you want to hear and the NHL is making sure that is known.

TSN's Darren Dreger reported that Colin Campbell met with Vancouver GM Jim Benning and told him that Gudbranson better stay in check when the teams meet again on December 3rd or else he will face "harsh consequences". Dreger also mentionned that the NHL takes a "threat of that magnitude" very seriously.

It will be an interesting game to follow to see if things boil over again.
