He loses his mind, jumps into the pile, and leaves his opponent a bloody mess.

Only in the playoffs.

You have to wonder if the National Hockey League will view this as crossing the line, and perhaps seek additional discipline after the fact.

On Friday night Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader, who has without a doubt been the primary agitator for Detroit in this series, went a little far, completely losing his mind, diving into a pile of bodies, and pummeling the crap out of Lightning forward Mike Blunden.

Blunden was not the least bit happy with Abdelkader after the fact, and when he stood up it was easy to see why, Abdelkader had busted him open with his flurry of punches. Blunden looked to settle the score on the feet but the official kept that from happening, although don't be surprised if these two cross paths again later on in the series.

It's only two games in, and with no games played thus far in Detroit, and this series has already reached the boiling point.
