The Montreal Canadiens’ annual charity golf tournament was held earlier today in Laval, QC, and members of the media seized the opportunity to ask head coach Michel Therrien about the rumoured comments he made regarding Max Pacioretty being the “worst captain in Habs’ history.”
“I never said those things. I don’t pay attention, quite honestly, to hearsay. If I start to pay attention to everything (the media) says, as a coach, I’m going to lose my focus,” he told reporters this morning.
Therrien went on to remind everyone present that Pacioretty demonstrated leadership in scoring 30 goals last season despite having missed training camp.
