You have to admit this is a perfect fit!

Gerard Gallant was fired, out of the blue, earlier this month by the Vegas Golden Knights and right away rumours linked him to new coaching jobs across the National Hockey League.

On Friday, it was announced that the head coach has landed a new job, but he won’t be standing behind a bench.

TSN has announced that Gallant will join James Duthie and the panel for Monday’s trade deadline as a contributor. He is expected to comment on trades, players and give us all the good behind the scenes stuff.

This past week, Gallant was spotted in Montreal which got a lot of people thinking he may be coming to replace Claude Julien as head coach of the Canadiens.

However, it seems like he was indeed on vacation only as he starts a new job on Monday.

We will have to see if this new gig lands him on a TV set or if he will soon be back behind a bench in the NHL.
