Head coach on his player's weak psyche: 'Maybe we have to get rid of some players.'

Earlier in the week TSN hockey insider Darren Dreger stated that no played in the Edmonton locker room was safe, with the only exception being superstar Connor McDavid.

It seems he may have been right because after another tough loss last night Oilers head coach Todd McLellan sent a very real, very credible, and very clear threat to his locker rooom, stating that the solution to the Oilers problems could come from getting rid of certain players. McLellan was asked about how he could fix the player's psyche, and his answer was extremely blunt.

"I'm really concerned about the spirit of our team right now. Really concerned."

"Maybe we have to get rid of some."

"It's got to change, or we've got to make huge, huge changes."

McLellan wasn't done there however, he went on to call out certain players, although he did not name them specifically, telling Sportsnet's Mark Spector that they should be humiliated at the effort they put out as part of his team.

"There were some (players) who should be embarrassed when they leave here."

It certainly sounds like some Edmonton players will soon be on new teams.
