Healthy Scratch: Coach Q will reportedly sideline three valuable players

Recently recalled Chicago Blackhawks forward Vinnie Hinostroza skated on a line with Andrew Desjardins and Jordin Tootoo at practice this morning, leading many to believe that he’ll be a healthy scratch for tonight’s contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets

Hinostroza was called up from the Blackhawk’s AHL affiliate the Rockford IceHogs just yesterday. With him out of the lineup at the first opportunity, fans of the team are questioning Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman’s reasoning for the recall. Regardless, Hinostroza is having a solid rookie campaign having notched 6 goals and 8 assists for 14 points in 48 games with the Blackhawks this season with an additional 7 points in 15 games in the AHL.

Drafted by the Blackhawks in the 6th round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, the 22-year-old native of Bartlett, Illinois has provided a spark for his team when in the lineup, so it’s expected that head coach Joel Quenneville will utilize him when he sees fit. The Blackhawks are coming off a big 5-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins and if the team can put up another strong performance against the Blue Jackets, it could be tough for Hinostroza to crack the lineup.
