Earlier this week head coach Bruce Boudreau revealed that he had lost his only remaining brother, a death that came completely unexpected and one that made him his mother's last living son.

On Thursday night Boudreau returned to his position as the head coach of the Minnesota Wild and gave an honest and emotional update on the family tragedy that he has been forced to endure.

“There’s only so much crying you can do,” the Wild coach as per Mike Russo of The Athletic.

There is a silver lining however, prior to his departure from the team Boudreau admitted that his primary concern was for his mother, a woman who has now lost two of her three sons, and according to Boudreau she's doing well.

“My mum’s OK,” Boudreau said. “That’s the main thing.”

Despite the recent tragedy Boudreau was able to inject a little humor, poking fun at his assistant coaches who have gone winless without him behind the bench.

“I hope we win 5-1 tonight,” Boudreau said, “because then I can give the coaches grief about the last two [preseason losses] without me.”

Obviously the loss of his brother is still fresh, and while nothing will ever fill the hole he leaves behind, we wish both Boudreau and his mother nothing but the best moving forward.
