Hendricks likely to face discipline after dirty hit on young star.

When we first saw this hit we expected that the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety would be getting involved.

On Sunday night, during a match up between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers at Rexall Place, Oilers forward Matt Hendricks took some liberties with one of the NHL's young stars, Florida Panther Aaron Ekblad.

Hendricks drilled Ekblad from behind, and on the slow motion replay you can clearly see Hendricks deliver the hit between the numbers before crunching Ekblad's face against the glass. Ekblad look a little dazed and was slow to get up, and it led to angry responses from just about everyone on the Panthers and likely from their fan base as well.
