Henrik Lundqvist was not going to be denied a milestone win on home ice.

The New York Rangers' goaltender was on a mission to get win No. 400 for his career at Madison Square Garden, and took it upon himself to rally the troops on Saturday.

With the Rangers behind 2-1 to the Colorado Avalanche after 40 minutes of play, "The King" told his teammates "there is no way we are losing this one tonight" during intermission. The Rangers' offense proceeded to explode for 3 third period goals, assuring their goalie's prediction came to fruition.

"I really wanted to get this win in front of the fans because they've meant a lot to me over the 12 years," Lundqvist said, according to NHL.com's Dan Rosen. "You hear the crowd (and) you get goosebumps. It was just like my first game here when they chanted my name."

Lundqvist became only the 12th goalie in NHL history - and the first European netminder - to win 400 games.

It's only fitting that he would call his shot and come through in front of the Rangers' faithful.

The Rangers are now winners of five straight contests,  and will look to continue their hot streak against the Blue Jackets on Monday and the Islanders on Thursday.
