Hextall's pretty clear about his intention.

With the trade deadline looming on the horizon, every team has its own strategy. Some are buying, some are selling and many are undecided still. 

Ron Hextall has never been a guy of nuances and his last declaration keeps his reputation alive. When asked about the intent of Philadelphia's management on the deadline, he was dead serious. 

'We are not buying'.

Simple as that! 

With defensemen Mark Streit, Michael Del Zotto, and Nick Schultz expected to become unrestricted free agents come July 1st, the temptation to trade one of them is strong. It would be surprising to see Del Zotto gone, but Streit and Schultz make perfect rentals for contending team looking for a bit of depth and experience at the blue line. 

The deciding factor will be the result of Saturday night battle against Pittsburgh and Tuesday against the Avalanche. Winning or losing, Philly will be moving.
