High ranking front office members spotted at rival team's game spark trade rumors.

There was no reason for them to be there last night.

Two very big names spotted at a rival team's game have sparked some big time trade rumors.

According to a report from New York Islanders insider Arthur Staple, both Chris Drury, who is now the New York Rangers assistant general manager, as well as New York Rangers director of player personnel Gordie Clark were spotted in attendance at the Islanders game on Sunday night, a game where they faced off against the Anaheim Ducks.

The Ducks have been the subject of many trade rumors as they almost certainly will be forced to trade a defenseman once Hampus Lindholm signs his new contract and for the Rangers to send two former National Hockey Players' and perhaps more importantly two of their top scouts to a game they had no reason to attend, would appear to indicate they are interested in making a deal with Anaheim.

Obviously the Rangers did not announce this move, so it's hard to gauge what kind of deal could be in the works, but if the rumors are anywhere near the mark it would be safe to assume that Cam Fowler may very well be their target. The real question becomes who are the Rangers prepared to give up to make this deal a reality.
