Hints of a monster deal in the works coming from Montreal!

Now with 4 losses in a row, chances to see the Montreal Canadiens turn their season around in time to get them into the playoffs seems to have fade away for good.

Surprisingly, GM Marc Bergevin still sits on a 9 million dollars cushion that he could've used at any time so far to help hos team out but didn't. While the Habs always spend up to the cap, rumors out of Montreal say they are in the waiting game to acquire superstar John Tavares if and when he becomes available, before signing him long term thus having as much money possible available for the upcoming years in order to make his future monster contract fit.

According to radio host Jean-Charles Lajoie on 91.9 Sports in Montreal, not only would this rumor have some legs but GM Garth Snow would have investigated on Habs' young forward Alex Galchenyuk  who would have to be included in any Tavares deal.

''I have heard that Garth Snow and his staff would have investigated on Alex Galchenyuk's behavior outside the rink. Not directly to Marc Bergevin but other hockey people close to the situation. This would have taken place during the summer and recently.''

Isles legend Mike Bossy thinks that this rumor would make senses for both sides but wonder what would Montreal have to add to acquire Tavares before the end of the season.
