Hockey writer believes that the Leafs will win the Stanley Cup

Known for his controversial remarks and writing style, hockey writer Steve Simmons recently wrote a piece for the National Post stating that the Toronto Maple Leafs will win the Stanley Cup. 

"The Leafs will win the Stanley Cup. I’ve never written that before. This team is a champion in waiting."- Simmons.

The Leafs are indeed one of the most exciting teams to watch in the NHL these days. With young stars such as Matthews, Marner and Nylander, there is plenty of talent growing in the T-Dot organization. However, this is still a team that needs to evolve and adapt to their new culture. It is interesting to see that about two years ago the Leafs were in complete rebuild mode but now people are talking about this team being Stanley Cup caliber? Whether it happens or not, All eyes will be on the Leafs this year and I truly believe that the 2017-2018 will be a big test for the club.
