Huge comments from Jarome Iginla about his future in the NHL.

The future of  Jarome Iginla has been one of the hot button issues this season with many expecting the future Hall-of-Fame forward to announce his retirement, but Iginla's most recent comments seem to tell a very different tale.

Speaking recently to Bo Hamby of LA Kings Insider, Iginla made comments that came short of of officially announcing that he would be back for one more year, but they weren't very far off.

“I don’t know for sure, but when I came I was probably 50/50 or leaning but it has been fun and it’s hard. It’s been actually a lot of fun being back and the race and meaningful games and things so I would say I’m leaning more towards believing I’ll come back. It’s fun and I want it to be but at the same time I’ve got to go and talk with the family and see what is. I don’t really know for sure but being here in the last month has been a lot of fun and I would say definitely would like to play more than call it a day but saying that, there’s a lot of things that go into it and I don’t know for sure but I’m hoping to play again. It doesn’t feel like I want that to be the last one.”

This is huge from Iginla who is now set to be a unrestricted free agent on July 1st, the same day he will turn 40 years of age, the question now of course will be if there are any NHL teams willing to bring him on board at his advanced age. In his final games of the season Iginla did show he could still contribute picking up 6 goals and 3 assists in 19 games with the Los Angeles Kings.
