Last season Carey Price was named the National Hockey League's most valuable player, and this season when he went down with a serious injury, it was a very revealing look at just how much the Canadiens depend on Price. The Canadiens were so bad that fans, pundits and even players joked that Price should be named most valuable player for the second year in a row, arguing that no one could doubt his value to the squad given the results in his absence.

Unfortunately for the Canadiens the injury to Price took much longer than originally expected to heal, and it effectively ended their season before it really ever got started, but there may be some light at the end of the dark tunnel that has been the 2015-2016 season for Montreal.

According to a report from the Canadiens official social media accounts, Price will be travelling with the team as they head out on their most recent road trip. Head coach Michel Therrien has confirmed this news and furthermore has added that he expects Price will play at some point during the road trip.

It's unclear when Price would be expected to step back into game action, but this has to be viewed as terrific news for the Canadiens, and fans of great players in general. You can almost hear the collective sighs of relief coming from a fan base that was legitimately concerned about the long-term health of their star player.
