Hurricanes unveil three new logos for 2019-20 season

The Carolina Hurricanes have unveiled their 2019-20 third jerseys, but even more interestingly the team has announced that they’ll use three different logos this upcoming season. For home games the team will use their traditional logo, for away games they’ll use a new wordmark logo and for “special games” they’ll use their popular “Storm Warning” flag logo.

Check it out:

Interesting. The away (white) jersey and logo look a bit uninspired to me, a bit like the silly “SENS” one that the Ottawa Senators employed a few years back:

Not a fan of team nicknames on jerseys, to be honest. Would the Maple Leafs put “BUDS” on their uniform? Would the Canadiens put “HABS” across their chest? Not likely.

In any case, kudos to the Hurricanes for venturing out and doing something different for a change. This certainly seems to be the way the team is headed under new owner Tom Dundon. Out with the old, in with the new.
