In case you missed it, a report surfaced yesterday courtesy of TSN insider Darren Dreger that alleges that Toronto Maple Leafs forward Andreas Johnsson has rejected two contract offers from Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas.

“The Toronto Maple Leafs offered Andreas Johnsson $2.1m on a 2 year deal and $2.6m on a 4 year deal around the deadline and he declined.”

The 24 year old Johnsson made an immediate impact with the Leafs during his rookie season, potting 20 goals and 43 points in 73 games. The 7th round pick (202nd overall in 2013) is clearly looking to get paid this offseason, but with a pricey extension for superstar Mitch Marner on the horizon and with Auston Matthews’ new deal kicking in, Johnsson may have priced himself out of the picture in Toronto.
