In case you missed it this past weekend, Boston Bruins first round selection (29th overall in 2016) Trent Frederic absolutely DUMMIED forward Joseph Labate in a good old, fashioned minor-league hockey fight.

Frederic has five assists and 15 penalty minutes with the AHL’s Providence Bruins this season and earned himself a five minute major after this impressive center ice KO:

Here’s the full broadcast clip of the scrap, complete with commentary:

Nothing quite like a good, old fashioned scrap. Frederic has absolute cinder blocks for hands and manages to connect with his final right, sending Labate to the ice in a heap.

You love to see it.

The 6 foot, 2 inch, 200 pound Frederic played just 15 NHL games with the Bruins in 2018-19, going pointless along the way. Should he keep up his strong play in the AHL though, it’s likely that he’ll receive an NHL call-up from the Bruins at some point this season. And if he keeps throwing bombs like this, he’ll become an indispensable part of the Bruins’ roster. After all, we all know just how much Bruins fans love and appreciate a guy who can take care of business the way Frederic can.

Here’s hoping the kid can punch his way up the ranks and onto a permanent spot with the B’s 4th line.
